For what it's worth (Petrichor)

Updated: Jul 2, 2021

You’re the scent of rain, the crack of thunder before the lightning splashes

current through electric air

illuminating heaving world;

blue green static snap

You’re the relief when cold heavy drops

fall to break the spell of waiting.

you're the sparkling stones washed clean.

the river breathing in its banks again.

For what it's worth

These things you miss, for the silt upon the glass

Scream in jagged lightning to the rest

of the world.
